The Philippines experiences plenty of storms each year, especially during typhoon season. While most of the storms are moderate and a lot do not even make landfall, there are also exceptionally strong ones from time to time that hit several areas, causing severe damages and even thousands of death in its wake.

One example of such a deadly typhoon was the Typhoon Yolanda back in 2013 which led to over 6,000 confirmed deaths; though it is believed that the count was actually much closer to 10,000 as estimated by the local police chief who was later sacked from his position as he made Pres. Benigno Aquino look like an idiot.

Due to the high death toll and the huge damages the affected areas sustained, the international community pitched in billions of dollars in assistance to help these areas recover yet nearly three years after the huge calamity, most of the assistance has yet to be received by many of the victims and Vice Pres. Leni Robredo has recently discovered that only about 1% of the housing projects have been completed and released to the intended recipients.

Aquino and former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas have been heavily criticized over the apparent bungling of the international aid – and now, one fashion blogger is wishing for a similar huge calamity to hit the country to ‘teach’ Pres. Duterte a lesson.

I can’t wait for typhoon season to hit Philippines para maturuan ng lesson si Duterte (to teach Duterte a lesson). Go right ahead and burn your international aid,” tweeted Bryan Boy.

he tweet garnered attention, with people telling him that he could express hate to Pres. Duterte all he wants but he shouldn’t pray for something bad to happen to the country because such could affect innocent lives, whether pro or anti-Duterte people!
